Bubble and Bee Bath and Body Organic Products – Healthy or Toxic?

Bubble and Bee Organics - Healthy or Toxic?

Bubble and Bee Organics – Healthy or Toxic?

Bubble and Bee Organics Marketing Claims:

  • Certified Organic
  • No “Bad” Stuff
  • Strive to offer reasonable and approachable products to make organics affordable for everyone

Dr. Suzanne’s Investigation:

Bubble and Bee is a certified organic processing facility certified by the Utah State Department of Agriculture. The products fall under 4 categories:

  • 100% organic
  • Organic
  • Made with Organic Ingredients
  • Some Organic Ingredients

Non Organic Ingredients Used in Bubble and Bee:

Baking Soda found in the Pit Putty Organic Deodorant.  The USDA organic certification is an agricultural certification, therefore the ingredient must be grown to count towards the organic content of the product. Baking soda is a natural ingredient, but it is not “grown”. So it does not count towards organic ingredient content, however it is allowed in organic food.

Sea Salt – found in the Organic Salt Scrub. Same as baking soda….it is not “grown”, but is a natural ingredient.

Decyl Polyglucose (aka decyl glucoside) – found in the Organic Salt Scrubs . Decyl polyglucose is a naturally-sourced surfactant made from sugar and coconut*. It is very mild to use, it also maintains skin moisture and prevents skin dryness. It scores a 0, for low toxicity hazard, in the EWG’s skin deep database. There are no dangerous contaminants produced through the manufacturing of decyl polyglucose. Decyl polyglucose is known as a “biosurfactant” and is a product of the “green chemistry” movement. Although not an organic ingredient, it is safe for the environment and has no known toxic effects on the body.

*I have confirmed with Bubble and Bee that their decyl polyglucose is eco certified, which means it is from NON GMO sources of sugar and coconut.

The Verdict:

Bubble and Bee Organic Bath and Body products are Dr. Suzanne Approved. They only use safe ingredients and most of them are organic or are allowed in organic food. There are no dangerous chemicals hidden in this range of organic products.                     .

Stephanie Greenwood, the formulator of Bubble and Bee Organic Bath and Body products has a background in chemistry and is extremely knowledgeable. This chemistry knowledge combined with a mission of providing truly non toxic products and informing people of the hazards of chemicals in personal care products is a recipe for a healthy, “truly good for you” product!

Bubble and Bee Organic products are simple and practical. The packaging is fun and playful and they offer a variety of scents. Customer service has been impeccable with extremely prompt response to any detective questions I had.

You can purchase online at Bubble and Bee Organics or at many retail locations in the US.

  1. I am also a Miessence Rep and know Stephanie very well. She is one of the few formulators with similar ethical standards as Miessence. I discuss ingredients with her all the time (like, 5 minutes ago :). She’s one of the few brands and formulators I trust as much as Miessence.

  2. Erin Ely says:

Absolutely, Bubble and Bee rocks. They are just as fanatical about their ingredients as we are at Miessence 🙂

That’s what I love about them. They are clean and transparent.

  3. Jane Anne McGaw-Ward says:

Would you investigate Do Terra essential oils? They have many oils that can be used in/with food/cooking ? ie. thyme , basil, lemon, cloves, oregano… Just to name a few.

  4. Amanda Greer says:

I just found your site, and this is excellent information! Thank you so much for taking the time to do additional research on these products (especially the ones for our little humans).
